Face Exercise – Forehead Lift
The forehead lift face exercise works the:
Epicranius, which raises the eyebrows;
Occipitalis, which draws the scalp back; and
Galea aponeurotica, which joins the frontalis and the occipitalis.
The forehead lift prevents or reduces the frown lines between the eyebrows, and also raises the eyebrows. As well, it prevents or diminishes hooding of the upper eyelids.
Method:
While sitting or lying down, place the index fingers of both hands high on the forehead so that one of them is parallel to the top of each brow. Now pull the fingers down so that they are approximately a half inch above the brows. While the fingers are pressing down, concentrate on pushing the eyebrows up. Push the eyebrows up and release 10 times. Now hold the eyebrows in the up position, continuing to keep the fingers pressed down and do mini-eyebrow push-ups until you feel a tight band of pressure above the brows. Hold them up and count to 20. Release.
Frequency:
Two times a day and three times to correct a heavy or scowling brow.
Advanced:
While lying down, raise your head off the bed or floor a half inch each time you push up the eyebrows and release. Feel the band of pressure across your forehead. On the final push-up, raise your head a half inch and count to 20.
